Title: Re: Zynga Shuts Down OMGPOP One Year After Acquiring It For $200M

Was there any economic reason why Zynga shut down OMGPOP? I know that the player base for Draw Something crashed after Zynga bought it, but I don't see that as a reason to shut the whole damn thing down.

The site is actually still up, all game still work. Guess something happened, or they just haven't closed it down yet.

I was gonna post this but didn't because the site was still up.
I think it was just that people were laid off. Think the site is fine?
My question is how the hell did OMGPOP have so many employees and money behind it when it was so fucking broken.

Maybe it'll stay up but Zynga just won't be responsible for its maintenance? I mean there is literally zero indications on the site itself that it is being shut down sooo...

According to sources, Zynga laid off 18% (520) of their employees, and closed multiple offices (which includes OMGPOP's office in New York).
All OMGPOP employees are out of a job, and it looks like the site will too.
