Xbox 1 is the new xbox.

The conference was awful showing literally like no games. They talked mostly about TV, sports and a Halo TV show... (So a system just for fratboys.)

After half of it was over they showed EA sports games, one new ip with no game footage(none of the trailer had game footage) a forza trailer, and at the very end a COD trailer.
It was like MS E3s. Completely awful.


Oh and after that it got even worse.

Xbox 1 has no BC. Though PS4 doesn't either.

And even worseeee
Second hands games YOU HAVE TO PAY A FEE to play the game.
So yeah. You want to bring a game to a friend's house? Better cough up the cash!

Also the xbox 1 isn't always online but does need internet connection?(No idea how this works not enough info.)
I imagine it needs online to be able to read discs to see if they are new or not. But that is still similar to always online...?

Xbox 1 was just announced and it just sounds so bad. I have 0 plans on ever buying one. Even with the Vita and WiiU I have plans on getting them one day. (Although not any time soon.)

Some other info.

The xbox 1 must ALWAYS have the kinect on to be able to work. If the kinect isn't on it will not work.

Guess now we just call it the first xbox or the original xbox. It is quite stupid.

Well. That's awful. The controller is the exact same. Will it be compatible with Xbox 360 ones? Nah. Always online that they have will be breaking to many, for oh so many reasons. Used game fee however, is the maximum amount of bullshit. I doubt the fee will go to the publishers, let lone the developers. Straight into Microsoft's pockets. It bothers be they don't directly support analog output. A good number of people still use older televisions, particularly for the younger audience they are targeting, who often use the beat up old television rather than their parent's nice new one. Three wireless radios built into the thing, but knowing MS, they'll still charge for an external wireless card for actual internet communication

Forced game installs is reasonable, for the sake of speeding it up. Loading times for some games were bad enough with optical drives. With larger game sizes from now on, even if it wernt mandatory installs, it would be silly not to, with a 500gb HDD included anyhow. Skype service in it seems nice at least.

I did minimal amounts of actually looking things up, but I find this a bit silly.

Ill stick to PC.

I think Microsoft wants this system to fail.

A few updates(and repeat of things.).


-Needs an internet connection. You can only be offline for 24 hours. (It really is a pretty much always online machine.)
-Can't play on a different profile without paying a fee (Probably means bye Gamefly/Redbox.)
-Kinect must be plugged in and always on. (Also the kinect is always listening.)
-TV needs separate shit for the xbox(Fucking stupid since it's one of their biggest things.)
-Not BC(though neither is ps4)
-Still have to pay for online

They seem after an audience that doesn't really exist.

A crowd that wants more then video games. Which is weird because it's a gaming machine and the fact that the TV shit isn't even INCLUDED with the xbox one stuff.

They talk about it being easier for people but it's really not that much different from pressing one button your your remote to switch channels.

I was talking to a friend on steam about the console.
And the thing is, the console is just so bad with all the anti-consumer shit. Even if it had the best library of all time, I don't think I'd get One.

At this point I have 0 plans on ever getting a Xbox One. And so do many others.
Which is a terrible thing for people to think when it was just announced.

I mean most people think for months/years maybe one day.(I did for the 360.)

I don't know what the heck they're thinking with the used game fee, which is actually the full price of the new game.

They don't realize that they've just fucked up retailers and rental stores. They better just scrap everything they've done.
I've used the Xbox marketplace enough, it's nothing but stupid advertisements for the latest Call of Duty/Gears of War DLC and the useless Zune marketplace, to top it all off it's incredibly slow.

This is going to do worse than the Wii U. Microsoft have screwed up so badly, making their console targeted at Americans only. Even partnering with the NFL. If anyone wanted to watch primitive men charge at each other they would change their TV channel, not watch a low quality stream.

Microsoft even make EA look like gods after this. Windows 8 has been regarded poorly and now they've given us even more to complain about. Microsoft really do know how to make people angry.

I'd like to see what will happen in the Xbox servers go down... Let's see how long it takes them to get rid of the 360's Live connection.

You do realize consoles come out like every like 7 years?

Most people buy it 2/3 years after it comes out.(for price drops and a lot of games to be already on the console) so most people get at least 4 or 5 years out of the console (though because people wait another 2 years or whatever for the next console some could argue 7 or whatever years.)

The PS3 came out in 06(360 in 05.) so 7 years later isn't really out of the blue.

Some people think the wait is too long for new consoles and want it after 5 years.

I'd say it's fine how often they come out. Hell at least they aren't like phones that get a new model every year and are the same price and sometimes more than the price of a console.
