Title: Loading screen soundtrack
Post by: Prox on April 14, 2013, 10:54:24 AM
What do you guys think about it? Do we need it? If we do, what should we pick?
Post your opinions.

For those who aren't quite sure what it is it's basically a song that plays when you enter the loading screen when connecting to a server.

Yeah I completely agree with this Idea  but at the same time what happens if people load really fast and barley hear the song/some other type of genre

I'm not exactly sure about this. Maybe it would be fine if it was a track that we can all agree on, and one that doesn't really have a big introduction to the song itself. Hearing the exact same start of a song is sure to get annoying for some. When I want to fuck around on some servers they play some terrible stuff during the download screen and nobody really wants to spend their time adjusting their game volume or muting their sound before they join the game. Basically if you are going to do this, do it properly - no painfully loud techno with a ridiculous opening so the newcomers don't think that we are clowns.

I don't really think it's needed, to be honest. I am the type of person who is all for this time of stuff, however the load times can often be really short for people, so instead of being enjoyable, it might just start to get annoying; however if there was like a jazz song like Hideo posted, I don't think it'd be too bad.

You know, i have bad English but i would like to say something...

In my view,  for me.

It's not mean stupid idea, but we can't choice play/stop and we can't adjust volume... so would be rape someone's ear...
( sometime i join server that uses music for loading-screen, and can't adjust volume so... )

I was talking about this today and even though I would like to see this happen what yomo said is true.

Along with this during loading the client will freeze and unfreeze making audio playback not smooth...

All I ever wanted, was to put day-day song in the loading screen. Was that so much to ask?
