Now I like some of the Disney movies and hated some of the others. But.. I'm never watching any other Disney movie for as long as I live and I'm certainly not watching Episode 7.
They've shut down all the game projects! What's your opinions on this?

That's been shut down forever.
They were working on a different game that was similar to BF. Star Wars: First Assault. It was considered a sequel but it's been discontinued because of this. :c

Honestly I could kinda see this coming, lucas-arts heyday was back in the 90's when they had The Tales of Monkey Island, and other such titles. But lately most of the good starwars stuff has come from other companies, with the exception of battlefront.

Always sad to see a great studio like that finally die out (except for you EA), but they had a pretty solid run in the end.

I don't see the big deal, they didn't even go off on a high note. Wasn't the last game they released a Star Wars Kinect game? They haven't done anything decent in a long ass time.

... 1313 and First Assault. Those two people looked forward to. But I agree that they've sucked for quite a while; I know I won't be watching Episode 7.

I was sad about this, but I talked to someone in the entertainment industry and his pov was like this:

That it was a good decision by Disney, for Disney, because they are eliminating unnecessary risks and that overall it was the best decision towards the stability of the company's profitability and towards returns for the stockholders.

Like any profitable business, make sure we make at least a little money consistently to reward stock holders and reassure the board than take risks that might turn large profits or even make cool things! Money man :/

Although, interesting thing came about from this: Popular game Jedi Academy and Jedi Outcast source code officially released to the public!

This is pretty awesome and hopefully can get ported to buncha kewl systems!

Looks like Disney also threw out all their hand-drawing animators.

There goes the hopes and dreams of any child who wanted to grow up to be a Disney artist, and there goes the originality their lovely movies had. It just won't be the same.

3D is less time intensive, therefore cheaper.

Also, Disney had, in previous times, tried to throw out their hand drawn animators in an attempt to cut costs, but many of those animators easily learned how to animate using computers, as the basic concepts of animation did not change. (This is hearsay I got from one of my Animation professors who taught 2D animation but whose job was in 3D animation)
