As cool as this is, because I know Windwaker is a fun game, I think they should have remade a game that could have really used it, like say, Majoras Mask, or maybe even older than that? I just think remaking Windwaker is...unnecessary? It's like how they're making a Kingdom Hearts HD collection for the PS3. I don't really think its necessary, they should use that time to either make Kingdom Hearts 3, or redo maybe 358/2 days or something.

They said there were messing around with engine upgrades, and that when it was applied to Wind Waker it felt like any entirely new game in itselfStill like, why remake a game I can play on my Wii right now? It just seems pointless. It just seems like a way for them to get money from people, which really annoys me. They could be spending that money, and that time on the next Zelda, or on a game that could really use the upgrade. Maybe I don't own a Nintendo 64, maybe I don't want to emulate the game? This could be a really good opportunity for them to actually make MORE money, because it's a game that maybe not a lot of others have gotten the opportunity to play, and it would probably leave a bigger impact. Taking the extra time to remake an older game, instead of just spitting out a more "polished" game, that is not even that bad looking to begin with, for quick money, would probably benefit them in the end. I would just think that they would want to go that extra mile for their fans. I would never spend money on a system, just to play a game I can already access for a much cheaper price, just because it looks "prettier". I am almost not even considering getting the KH HD collection, how ever my inner fan is preventing me from doing that. A remake of Wind Waker is basically for the sucker fans who must own every Zelda related game, or the people who already own a Wii U and want to play a good game. gg Nintendo.
Same props, etc.
Just higher resolution textures, shadows, lighting bla blaa
MM would need to be fully remade, models and all... wouuld end up taking more of their time away from Zelda WiiU
stuffWell for me, I'm not a huge Zelda series fanatic (only played Windwaker and Phantom Hourglass) but I really like that they remade the game. Maybe it was the easiest Zelda game to remake out of the other ones but also one of the more modern ones. Whatever reason, I really like Windwaker.

Alright, trust me I love Zelda.
But don't sit there and tell me it's not just a ezmode cop out for nintendo to get more "strong first party titles" on the WiiU in lieu of the large development cycle for the WiiU HD Zelda.
Of all the still's they have released, I can tell you that it's the same game with a better renderer and higher quality post processing effects... I almost don't see a replay value in this.
Reminds me a bit of Ocarina of Time port to 3DS... or well they called it a remake. However, the 3DS system capabilities are around the same as what the Nintendo 64 was able to produce - including a few better ways of rendering things. But my point is, you still see similar geometry with the same limits - which is just what they would be doing with the Wind Waker port to WiiU.
Sure, it would require a much larger time investment to remake OoT from scratch on the WiiU, but wouldn't that be awesome? All projects take time, so why do you side with Nintendo when they pick the easy way to achieve their business goals. What really are you getting out of a franchise approaching the definition of rehash.
Also, look what happened to the Mario series recently... The last few Mario games Nintendo made seemed to be almost like DLC's for Mario, adding some content here and there or some functionality yet they charge the same price, etc.
.....
Screw you guys.
I don't know man, it upsets me seeing Nintendo might start to use Zelda like this... like that 900 Nintendo Point gold nunchuck. You would have to buy like 3 systems and 15 games to get that... was only supposed to be a one time item too but came back recently... pingaz :/
...
what is this, call of duty
D: wait what are you saying
Referencing gold plated things being a COD cliche

But in all seriousness, I kind of like the fact that they actually remember the great Zelda games and not through it out in the dump like Call of Duty.
Plus it's better than having a god damn DLC
