I'd say the saddest to me would be

-The walking Dead. (yea I know I just said that first sentence. lol)
-MGS3 (ending)
-MGS4 (ending)
-COD4(ending.) Aka the last good COD besides CODWAW
I guess MW2 was somewhat sad when

Counter Strike 1.6,because when i think back at how i played it 2 years straight i get sad feelings and memories

I guess in MW3 when soap died,even though i hate CoD i kinda like the characters

I wasted 3 or 4 years on Runescape.... but I have some really good memories from them. Before the game went to shit. lol

Shoulda spoiled that. ;p I think Capt Prices reaction to Soap's death was more sad than Soap's death. Soaps Death was lame imo.

There isn't much that is genuinely sad in gaming, the CoD: Modern Warfare 2/3 story lines are more like a joke so they can shut reviewers up.

I'd say that the endings to games aren't very sad, just aggravating because you know that the writers could have done so much more to give a more satisfying ending to a game **Read Dead Redemption**

Final Fantasy X can make you a little sad when you discover that your journey was _____________________________

Then there's all the other games with their multiple endings (Heavy Rain/Mass Effect), I don't think that those should really count in this discussion, but the bad endings are usually more entertaining than the good ones.

I played a visual novel called Muv-Luv where it builds you up then tears you down. I cried many tears for the brave fallen warriors.

Portal 2 made me tear a bit when the turret opera started singing and the companion cube coming back.

But the saddest game in my opinion was in sly cooper 2 when Bentley lost his legs ): (don't think it's spoiler since barley anyone know's the game or has already beat it)

Or in Bastion when you know the story line and stuff yah that's pretty sad for me at least

Or star craft 1 where you ditch kerigan so many things

Red Dead Redemption.
Gears of War 3.
Modern Warfare 3. Regardless of how crappy it's multiplayer was IMO. I still was beyond depressed playing the story.
The Walking Dead
Mass Effect 2.
Halo 3. Particularly because Sgt. Johnson was my favorite character both in the graphic novels and game.
Silent Hill 2.
CoD 4.

Final Fantasy X, Legend of zelda Twilight Princess, Kingdom Hearts 1,2, Alan Wake, But the most saddest game I would have to say is Journey, not the end but right before it literally had me at tears and so connected to that game to which I can proudly say Is in my top list of games

This, but KHII's ending did make me cry... then again all of the endings made me cry. Even KH1, I was so happy I finally beat it.

KH1 was so bittersweet at the end.

KH2 was like the end of all the chaos. Still pissed the fag shook her hand instead of them kissing or anything, damn it Nomura, get it together.
