Title: Rock teh vote
Post by: Wafflepiezz on October 22, 2010, 05:20:03 PM
Many people get maps they don't like or they don't want. It may be too cheap or something. Such as fear tower. Many people dislike that map cause of unrealistic fall damage, people pushing eachother, etc.
So how do we solve it?[/

By voting to skip that map to a new one.
Rock teh vote :D
Rock the vote is a vote where users can vote on so the map will change to a new map/another map.

PS-I know that I can't really explain it anymore because that's mainly it.
Other info

I DO KNOW that some people MAY abuse it. I do NOT KNOW how to stop it frome being abused. Maybe like only 1 vote per 2 maps or something? Idk. HL2 has these kinds of options and only a few people abuse it.

To vote to skip/pass a map, users will just type in "rtv" in the chat box.

Think of this hypothetical situation

10 zombies, 3 humans surviving in a fort. Zombies are mad and start raging and rock the vote, humans cant outvote: Zombies change map.

It makes the gamemode unfun after more humans die and change the map every few minutes.

That's the downside of this.

I tried to think of ways so users won't abuse it.

Hm...maybe only regular ranks and up can only vote on this?
But the downside of if regular ranks and up can only vote is that other players below the rank will seem unfair.

This is useless, the reason a votemap map wins is because people want to play it, if others don't like it, too bad.

No not really... lets says theres 20 people in the server 2 people vote for the map another 2 vote for something else same with another 2 thats 6 votes and lets say 12 people vote for a random map (each different) now we are up to 18 votes one person didn't have time to vote because they couldn't find the map in tie to click it and the other just doesn't vote (like me)

Now going by that only 2 people actually wanted the map and 17 didn't want the map and one person just doesn't care so now we have 17 people, where like 10 of them will rage quit if they become a zombie or die and become a zombie.. because they hate the map. (Ex: fear tower)

Now this RTV can work but like someone said "Humans winning zombies get mad and vote" simple make it so you can't vote after the fourth wave. each wave is what 2 and a half mins long? with 1 min in between waves?

(2:30 x 4) + (1:00 x 4) =

10:00 + 4:00 =
14:00

Therefore you'll have 14 minutes to change the map, thats more then enough time to do it. if you going to vote for a map then do right away anything after wave 4 is because you're getting mad at the humans for winning or you're just raging

Make sure to read my paragraph before posting.

It's even in red o-o

AND That I said that maybe only regular ranks [and up] can vote? Idk.
