If u have been w8ting a long time for a graphics card.
Here is the time.
6xxxx have been released. Having a much larger selection of cards.
They focusing on the actual architectural.
Off the top of my head the 6850 being the 5770 replaecement.
Uses 19watts at idle, and 127 max.
If your in Canada come buy it at my store at.

Peetah tell me when you bought one of these.
And don't forgot to make a vid of it! :D
-
Novatech still pwning in prices :D
I saw them the min they came out :p
Forget the 5770 I'm saving up :D

Look at the mofo bandwidth speed o.o
and cores :O

effective memory bandwidth is 2x what the standard clock is....
aka 1.22GHz x 2 = 2.44GHz
my gfx card mem clock is 2.3GHz x 2 = 4.6ghz
EDIT:// also the GTX480 clock is 4.8GHz so i think umad

Save up for 5670 if you want semi-decent performance
-
Save up for 5670 if you want semi-decent performance
the 5450 is still good though - can run Fallout New Vegas on High with only sometimes fps loss, but the FPS is very unstable on fallout 3 anyway. you can look right and get 30 fps and the left and get 10

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
A 6xxxx?
Dude, I'm gonna go get a 69870.
-
i can run anygame max gfx on my gtx8800M....FOR LAPTOPS

with a shitty resolution and no dx10 or 11 support
not very future proof either
my gts450 runs any game (excluding Crytek games + M2033) on max/very high/extreme with 16x AA and 16x Anistropic filtering @ 1920x1080 with still over 60fps, gtfo noa
-
I can barely play GTA IV on mid with this shit. And go smooth on Crysis on mid 1280x1024 some shit on high.
-
GTA IV = Horrible console port.
Bad bad optimizing. Bad coding. Performance will vary.
Apparently it ran "amazing" on the computers at rockstar.

Because that's 16:10 and his is 16:9
No real difference, just a bit taller.

he said i could run a decent resolution and i was dx9

Of course, they probably have a uranium powered supercomputer at their HQ. Over 9000TB of HD Over 9000 Ram and Just Barely Above 9000 Expensive Processors barely above 9000ghz.
did I mention the computer was over 9000?

Most big time game devs have systems with hardware that's like a year away from the commercial market.

and work on making games that will be modern in 1 year

Well for the "power" u need to run Gta IV. It only gives u mediocre graphics.

Here are some reviews for the cards if anyone is curious as to how they perform.
6870:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/10/22/ati-radeon-hd-6870-review/1 (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/10/22/ati-radeon-hd-6870-review/1)
6850:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/11/06/xfx-radeon-hd-6850-review/1 (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/11/06/xfx-radeon-hd-6850-review/1)
And here is the current fastest consumer card out at the moment:
GTX 580:
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/11/09/nvidia-geforce-gtx-580-review/1 (http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2010/11/09/nvidia-geforce-gtx-580-review/1)
And yes it is faster than the 5970
Please for the love of all things holy, don't compare graphics cards based on their memory bandwidth. Generally yes more bandwidth is nice to have, but it doesn't mean jack if the gpu cant push enough polygons to get close to saturating a smaller sized bus.
There is no spec posted about graphics cards that will definitively tell you how they will perform, you just have to go and look at real world tests of things. Just because something looks awesome on paper, doesn't mean that the architecture is very efficient.
-
Well it's about time a single gfx card beat the dual :D
nVidia all the way :D
