Title: DirectX Error

can someone help I asked like 3 people including my handsome brother and no one can help me.

basically when I launch garry's mod it gives me an error saying I need to update my DirectX and sends me to a site to download it. Problem is, when I download it, it gives me another error saying that "an internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem."

Create a backup point
Uninstall DirectX
Then try to reinstall DirectX

Same this is happening to me when I log on.  It's probably some update error.

Might be a problem with the version of DX you have. What version do you have? You know how Garry messes with crap.

I don't know ._.
and its not Garry's mod I don't think because I only have this problem on this computer, it works fine on my laptop.
but then again direct x works fine for my other games, I'm only having trouble with Garry's mod, so yea..

Try uninstalling the DirectX program, download from the link Garry's mod gives you and install.

I remember getting an installation error when I tried installing DirectX for Gmod on my laptop. It worked fine after trying to install it a second time.

Could be firewall issues (the installer downloads the newest update stuff.) Not sure how to help you there tho...
