If you've ever seen Torchwood, death and the afterlife was a reoccurring theme, even in the first episode.
It really made you think about this kind of stuff, albeit their explanation was pretty dark. It did a good job of making it more "scary" when you thought a character was going to die (and given the nature of torchwood, you really didn't know when someone was going to die).
As for my personal beliefs, I really don't know. I don't really have a belief as to what happens when you die. If you want to look at what science tells us, you just die. Brain activity ceases, nothing happens. It just stops.
I'm a pretty firm believer in the paranormal/ghosts though. The thing is though, my thoughts are entirely based on residual energy. Someone could be really attached to a place, or an object, and a imprint is left behind. That's the explanation I follow, at least. The residual levels can vary from events/sounds that just repeat through time, regardless if someone is there to hear it, to sentience or a "clone" of the person who was there.
Again though, that's getting into my crackpot theories about ghosts. Blame /x/ for that. Psychic energies and whatnot.
Yea, it goes on debates of philosophical crap. Makes people think "Am I really here?" And then people would use the old quote "I think, therefore I am." but then one could say "What if we were made to think that?" and the cycle continues with no real answer. lol
Freedom and a whole lot of nothing.
I wanted to say "Marie strips in front of you" but then I saw serious discussion...10/10 would die to find out
I wanted to say "Marie strips in front of you"That's how I was raped asshole.
because no one brought back the declared dead so far.
What about the ones with the near death experiences? There's actually a few websites that explain that. Here's one. (http://www.crystalinks.com/neardeath.html)
What about the ones with the near death experiences? You're still not dead.
You're still not dead. The human mind does freaky shit when you're about to die.
Agnostic ftw!
Anyways. Who knows man. Christians/Catholics have the best mindset really, you get to go to heaven.
So I've been recently thinking about life after death, because of discussions about religion in AP History.Of course Eternal Darkness once you lose all of your 5 senses when dying
what happens when you die? Do you go into eternal darkness? Do you dream?
I'm Catholic (like most of the Mexican people lol) and of course I believe in god, now i do believe their is a heaven and hell. But recently I have been thinking about other things.
Like what if you go into eternal darkness, it's hard to thinK about it, but try; Darkness forever. FOREVER. That would be horrible. It's hard to even grasp the word "Forever" I think it's hard to grasp because there is no end,it goes forever lol...
Or
Dreaming for ever. That would be a little bit better.
Like I said I believe there is a heaven and hell after death.
What are your guys's beliefs and ideas about life after death?
Remember I posted this in the respect free section, feel free to input your opinion as long as it isn't bashing there idea/belief I don't want this to be a flame war. Kthx
I don't know what happens after death, but after some freaky encounters i do seriously believe there is something after death.Explain
I find it interesting how many people believe in reincarnation.Me too. They actually have meat(or beef only?) free McDonalds in India because they believe Cows are people closest to human level reincarnation or something.
Explain
Me too. The idea of being born over and over x amount of times with no memory of each life is a bit depressing to me. Not really something to hope for lol.

Now I couldn't stand if I had to be born again WITH memory of previous life. I wouldn't be able to take that at all.
I find it interesting how many people believe in reincarnation.
People feel better knowing that their entire existence doesn't just end right after death. But it most likely does.

I think before I die, I'm going to pull some Chucky shit and trap my soul into a gem in a necklace or something.
I could totally be a haunted necklace. Oh lawd, the hijinks that would ensue.

>enjoy your box mansion
>flirt with sexy jewelleries
Pimp life yo.
If everything gets erased of your mind, pretty much that doesn't equal to the death of the guy you were?
I mean, if i died tonight and reincarnated as a prisoner in middle Africa, i wouldn't have the same toughs or feelings.
Now if i died and get to remember all my past life's and chose if i want to reincarnate or do other shit that would be a little bit different.
Yeah exactly i've always thought of it this way too, that we are our memories. For example, people who have permanent memory loss basically died. Our personality is shaped by our experiences / memories too, so everything comes from them. If you lose them, you lose you. If i were 'reincarnated' i'd definitely want to remember my past lives.
