Title: Windows XP thinks it is Vista.
Post by: Loke on September 26, 2012, 04:07:52 PM
So now whenever my computer boots up, it says "Windows is loading files" and then does a Windows Vista bootscreen. Usually whenever it is fading in, it crashes, and if it doesn't, it does an infinite loop of the boot screen.

More details:
Started after my PC crashed
My PC is SUPPOSED to be Windows XP
And I really want help.

EDIT: After I let it sit, it went to a black screen with the mouse in the middle. Cursor works though

upgrade.

I actually downgraded from Win 7 Ulti because my only way of hearing sound is from a Sound Blaster 16.

Should've upgraded your sound card.

While this may be old, it is still a computer help thread.

First things first: What did you do prior to this error?

you could get a really cheap USB sound card for under $15 i'm sure.
