I used to have mixed feelings about it. Besides deciding if it's good because you enjoy it, how do you determine if it is?
-
if the songs are good

if the songs are good
That's all you look for in it?

What else is there to look for in it? Cover art? Run time?

I think the order of the songs are pretty important. Or how different it is from whatever previous one the artist had.

I think it depends on how much effort and love the artist put into the album.

What above people said.
Also if songs aren't repetitive of each other like sounding similar.

Yeah I knew I was missing something.

I'll tell you this: one of the best albums I've heard is A Thousand Suns by Linking Park. Besides the music sounding great, they did this cool thing where the end of one song lead to the beginning of another. It was basically all just one or two songs in one album.
Before I had known this, I was always getting irritated at myself because I would never notice the change from one song to another.
Edit:

Well considering I like all music, I don't see how that really works. But okay

Personally the best album I've ever listened to is London Calling by The Clash. It's so great in my opinion because all the songs sound so different from eachother, but they compliment eachother so nicely. Second favorite is probably Rattus Norvegicus by the Stranglers, all of the songs have a distinctive feel to eachother, but don't sound exactly the same. The order of the songs on that album is really great aswell, leaves a lasting impression.

To me, an album is good if you can go through the whole thing without skipping a song. Many bands can make a couple good songs, but only a couple can make an album that makes you keep coming back for more. Two of my favorite albums are Fleet Foxes and Helplessness Blues, both by the band Fleet Foxes. Their songs are full of so much love and emotion, with great melodies, choruses, a variety of instruments, and just so much goodness. You should definitely check them out.

Not much of a fan. My brother bought this album long time ago, and it sounded good, so I burnt it to listen to. I really enjoyed how the album was all together that's all.

A lot of coldplay songs segue into eachother but this isn't unique

no mylo xyloto?
-
If it's what the artists are trying to pull...having songs smoothly transition into one another perfectly. Like where it keeps the same outro as a instrumental, and then that outro suddenly goes into the intro of another song.
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon is the best example of that.
-
no mylo xyloto?
Yeah. "Mylo Xyloto" and Hurts like Heaven do it. And so does A Hopeful Transmission and Don't let it break your heart. I also think that segues into Up with the Birds. Almost all the songs do that really. I couldn't find the first song so I didn't post.

Yeah that album was pretty much awesome. I'll have to listen to their first one tomorrow, I'm off to get some sleep.
There are very few musicians these days that I can actually enjoy, so I'll pass on one of them here,
