Sebbbbb stop before it's too late
tl;dr IN NONGREEN GREENTEXT
>New Zealand study follows 1000 people before they even started marijuana
>Follows up repeatedly
>Considering alcohol and other substances, report says weed = drops IQ by 8 points
>drop varies by use
>no reversal

That's because most them are dumb af

They assessed them as children - before any of them had started using cannabis - and then re-interviewed them repeatedly, up to the age of 38.
-
For example, researchers found that individuals who started using cannabis in adolescence and then carried on using it for years showed an average eight-point IQ decline.
Stopping or reducing cannabis use failed to fully restore the lost IQ.

Welp, I'm still smarter than most people.

I think it's because the majority stop giving fucks about learning/just learning/life in general when they get high (provided they don't get high and bring harm to themselves which would explain the low IQ) and don't give fucks about anything ever... thus they don't know/remember how to write the average essay on pot itself, or maybe some other essentially simple academic things.
Then again some people might be taking Marijuana at 'the right times' (the wrong times with the wrong conditions/people), and messing up their brains as they develop anyways.
Anyone could react to any substance differently, right? And what about all the environmental conditions in their life? Would being exposed to hormone blockers/growth hormone on a regular basis fuck up the chemistry/affect someone more adversely than the everyday adolescent/person smoking cannabis?
And then some people could be wired in such a way that exposure to the chemicals in said drug would mess with them anyways. Are there Genetic Markers responsible?
Seb is without a doubt
still smarter than most people
and this probably wouldn't include him because I'm pretty sure the Universe speaks to him when he trips balls anyways.

lol, needing durgs to enjoy more of life.
-
oh no that eight points
I can only imagine the losses
-
What I'm getting from you is that dumb people who smoke pot get dumber because they are already predisposed as being stupid. But the thing is, marijuana smokers don't get high ALL the time. And even with the cohort of subjects that use pot very little compared to the heavy users, it still shows an overall decline in IQ.
You can ignore genetic factors as statistical inaccuracies because the sample size was 1000 people, and environmental issues were taken into account.

I didn't read the article, but did they have a baseline group? One that underwent the same observational process, but didn't smoke at all?

8 points is kind of high as far as the scoring goes.

Try telling some of my friends that Lol Some smoke more then a quarter a day Lol

Never said they spent their money wisely Lol I think its a waste of money but they claim to be "addicted" and i claim thats full of shit because i had no problems quiting drugs and i was doing more then just weed. I was doing drugs that actually had addictive chemicals in them whereas weed doesn't.

They chose 1000 people at random who've never smoked during pre-teens and then followed up during adulthood

An IQ of 100 is average.
108 isn't exactly impressive.
For anyone who wants to know if there was a control group, it's a generally accepted fact that IQ scores are supposed to increase slightly with age. At least that's what Wikipedia said when I read about it.

IQ of 100 to 92 is a pretty big leap. And the control group were the people who never smoked, of which their IQ's raised or stayed the same
