Hello, I have recently been looking for a new laptop, as the one I currently play games on is absolute shit. I wish to get a new one. I've heard AlienWare is a revolutionary brand. But I've also heard them being bashed countless times. When I get enough money, will it be worth it to get an AlienWare Gaming Laptop? Or should I get another brand?
Link to the AlienWare laptop page = http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/alienware-m11x?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn (http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/alienware-m11x?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn)

//Moved to computers board
In my opinion, the alienware brand is overpriced for the hardware included.
I recommend custom builds or shops online that support building for you rather than buy from OEM brands.

If you're looking for good AND cheap laptops, I can recommend HP.
I got an HP Laptop for about 600$ and I can play Crysis perfectly on High.

dont really recommend laptops for gaming :/

AlienWare is overpriced.
But this site (http://www.ibuypower.com) has good deals for really cheap.

I think they're pretty good for gaming.
Most Laptops give you good performance, and you can play everywhere with laptops.
-
Not only is alienware pretty over priced, but the laptops used to overheat pretty badly as a result of trying to fit desktop parts into the laptops for better performance.
Also its pretty old fashioned to say Laptops arent good for gaming. That used to be the case back when getting a laptop with 500mb of ram was GREAT. Now you can get a pretty descent laptop for gaming and it wont cost you too much. You just have to weigh the pros and cons.
With a laptop you will get portability which is a MAJOR bonus. Unfortunately you will pay much more for a laptop then you would for a desktop with equal specs. It is also damn near impossible to upgrade parts in a laptop aside from upgrading RAM. You are also stuck with they screen you get with a laptop, whereas with a desktop you can always upgrade to a larger monitor.

If you got enough money as to wipe your ass with it, then spend it on AlienWare.
-
Well, Alienware makes alot of money from selling their product, and they have to use it all to upgrade their hardware lol, thats why it is so expensive.
-
iBuyPower pwns alienware.
People dont know this, but they are overpriced as fuck. Liek really, you can build the same thing for $700 for a $2,000 alienware.

Thanks for the help guys! Looking into the iBuyPower websight, they have some damned good computers for a cheap price, and the designs on them look incredible. I think I may be buying from there.
It's a good thing too, those roller coasters people sre building have been giving me huge FPS Lag on wirebuild on the laptop I have now.

well im just saying in comparison for the price of a laptop, building a computer would be more powerful, and if its not :cake:
-
Hell no, Ibuypower, Cyberpowerpc, or build your own.
Infact, buy a nice $700 desktop at bestbuy or something with complete monitor mouse etc, and then buy a $200 graphics card. You save $100 + you get the monitor (which the alienware didnt have)
-
They are fast without a doubt. But are they work it? no.
If u want a laptop. Go for the Asus gaming line. There are some pretty cheap ones.
If your going Desktop. Build your own >:/

So true.
For half the price of an alienware. I could make a computer about 2 times as good.
