Title: Valve games closing after starting up/Valve logo

After starting up games like Half Life 2 and other variants close to the desktop after it gets past the Valve logo while GMOD  just close after it says i'm in game without displaying anything.
How do I fix this?

Just wondering, in the games launch Options, type "novid"

Still nothing for gmod and HL2 still crashes.

Going to install all 118 updates I apparently need after installing a fresh copy of windows 7 and formatting


EDIT: It fixed it lockplz
