Title: What was/is your inspiration?
Post by: Purple on May 26, 2012, 05:02:46 PM
What/Who made you want to do what you do now and how has that changed?

/mine/

In I think 5th grade when I first got my computer/room I started to try to draw manga and anime after the guy on youtube named Mark Crilley
http://www.markcrilley.com/ (http://www.markcrilley.com/) I tried to draw the exact same thing that was on the screen before I started to draw shit on my own.

I also learned a little from http://bleedman.deviantart.com/gallery/ (http://bleedman.deviantart.com/gallery/) I first found him through you tube as well looking at a video of his comics, http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/ (http://ppg.snafu-comics.com/) I used to draw a shit load of gore after I found his stuff even though his comics didn't even have much blood in them
I hate both of their styles now, they're too stereotype anime for me.

/now/

Now I'm trying to draw more cartoony stuff because of how lazy my lines look when I draw anime and how the expressions I draw don't go with the faces at all. Im currently inspired by http://aquasurfer.deviantart.com/ (http://aquasurfer.deviantart.com/) and http://xiao-tong.deviantart.com/ (http://xiao-tong.deviantart.com/) because firstly with Aqua, her fucking noses are lovely along with her heads and I just cant describe how much I love her drawing's expressions.

As for Xiao, I like her drawings because of how she colors them. For example, in this speedpaint she did
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
she colors to sketchy and fast, I like to finish drawings in a hurry so that I don't spend hours and hours just trying to color inside the lines. So thanks to her I found a way to do that :>, but holy fuck the tons of homestuck art and the terezi language shit she does is disappointing.

I have to say Brandon McCartney or Thomas Jefferson.

Who made me who I am today? Probably Blackbustercritic, though I can't look through his old videos since his account got hacked. Also the Amazing Atheist.

Who inspires me today? Geddy Lee, no competition. Except Jimi Hendrix.

Thank you very much, haven't been playing bass for very long (< a year) but I've grown so much just because I've listened to Rush.

Different categories sir.

The magic of Hendrix is he inspires all sorts of musicians, drummers, guitarists and bassists alike. Even if he didn't know much for theory or how to read music, he was a master of his art.
