Does anyone know how to put lyrics into a .mp3 file without Itunes or other programs?

I know you can use Itunes and it will transfer to your Ipod but I want to use another program to actually put it in the mp3, if it's possible.

Select the song in iTunes, and press CTRL+I.
Either that, or right-click it and click "Get Info."

No, that's the PURPOSE of ID3 tags. They're embedded in the file.
