Because I didn't want to take 3 hours to upload a 2 minute video, and because I didn't have good internet back then.

That's because everyone had a crappy computer back then that couldn't handle the framerate drops with fraps.

I record in Fraps then mess around with things in WMM. Then quality gets reduced slightly and I get to upload my video faster.
