I was not aware that this was set in motion.

I just went to DARPA's site and looked at the supposed projects.

Should they actually be legitimate and not some event where they throw stuff at a wall and see if it sticks then I have just shat myself.

Just imagine if someone were to herpderp and not only create a malformed kill switch, but also fail to properly enthuse the logic that would ensure said being was "unfailingly loyal".
And then that specific organism began to replicate.
