Hah!

I can build one of these with a PS-1's or a PS-2's CD reader laser that actually produces heat and ignites things (paper for ex.).

But this one wouldn't shoot a purple laser out.

yes it does every laser produces heat if you think about it

photons lose energy when they hit anything, it's just the nature of light

stronger and more focused the laser, the more heat it transfers to what you're pointing at

Like, noticeable... sure average lasers may produce heat, but if I just take a little laser from some little laser pointer or something like that and try to blow up a balloon, it won't.

yeah you would need around 150+mW to do it, a normal laser pointer is less than 5mW
