Why the fuck is Steam doing this to me when I try to run gmod?

For me as well, more then likely just another failed update I really don't understand what they can possibly keep updating that causes these issues.

As always, but the issue - I found after Googling it - is affecting everyone, OS X or Windows XP/Vista/7

No, it's actually just an issue with the OS X versions of GMod.
Will be fixed on monday.
