After having the plan of 1.5 mbps my entire life, I called my provider and bitched at them because AT&T doesn't have a 1.5 Plan... Our Internet was HORRIBLE so bad that my schools Internet was better lol...
Yesterday I switched to 3.0mbps, and I'm SUPER HAPPY. Today 1080 videos load in like 10 seconds as apposed to never loading.
I know some of you have bigger, greater plans. But I have never had faster than 3 in My life lol.
Do you guys have any Service provider stories? Like bitchinG at them lol

I called Telstra customer a few years ago to complain about their customer service. They didn't pick up.

A long time ago I wanted to create a Minecraft server that didn't require Hamachi. After spending a couple days trying to figure it out, I called my ISP to find out what my static IP (or something IP, I can't remember what it was). Turns out, Time Warner Cable doesn't have that for their clients. I was pretty pissed that day because I had spent so long getting it up

Timewarner gives "dynamic" IPs that never changes, so may as well be static. Also, Ipchicken.com. :\

3-6Mbps is pretty standard for the Argentinian medium/medium-upper class.

I got upgraded from 12 mbps line up to 24 mbps just for complaining to AT&T why there service sucks balls sometimes.
Try it. That's how I get discounts on all my things

My school has better internet speeds than all of the local ISPs in my town. I think the internet speeds are somewhere in the ball park of 20MB/s to 30MB/s down/up depending on the day. And yes, Megabytes.
I'll try to get a speedtest.net result. :p

Schools use direct connection through ethernet cables, ofc they get a better connection than you guys.

My mom got a new package the other day
Instead of 100kb/s we get 180kb/s download speed

They generally use Fiber at this point.
Most schools will have an OC-1 or OC-3 line. (OC=Optical Carrier)
You can buy one too!!! OC-1 lines will generally be in the $10,000-$20,000 a month range + setup fees. Granted these were prices from a few years ago but close enough.
OC-3 will be ~$50,000 a month

Yeah, I've downloaded files at 20mb/s at my school before. Our graphics teacher rakes in millions of dollars of scholarships for his students, so our school can have nice things sometimes.

I get around 50MB's(6 - 10MB when actually downloading) with around 5MB Upload(Again, divide it by 10).
Is it good enough for hosting c:?
Really I wanna host an MC server >_>

We just recently moved, and a long with the move we got a different internet plan. Our internet before was simply AWFUL, some days it would work fine, others it wouldn't work at all. Fucking sucked. With out new plan though, I haven't had any problems at all, it's wonderful.

May not be as amazing as some, but it is a hell of a lot better then before.

My connection's good, but it disconnects and goes down A LOT.
