I'm part Peruvian and my Spanish is pitiful. I actually took up Russian because my mom told me to improve on my Spanish.

I can relate, I am half Colombian and I pretty much took in every physical characteristic from my white-ass father except my moms asian brown eyes. I spoke better spanish when I was a little kid then I do now. :\

My mom told me English was my secondary language before I went to school.

I barely remember anything before 3rd grade, jesus.

Right, I'm bilingual. I can speak Chinese and English. But my first language was actually Spanish. Since I lived in LA for the first 5 years of my life, all my babysitters and maids were Mexican. Plus, my parents were always out working, so I actually learned to speak Spanish before anything. But after moving to China, I stopped speaking it. Now I'm trying to relearn it.

Learning Russian must be pretty awesome. I can speak English, Spanish, German, and Dutch. I haven't looked into Rosetta stone yet, but i'm very interested in learning Arabic.

Rosetta Stone sucks if you're going to learn something that doesn't use the Romanic alphabet, I suggest Memrise.

Also, bumping with the fact that I can now read Russian Cyrillic.

I've heard that Rosetta Stone is just useful for basic stuff and nothing beyond that.

I'm actually learning German right now, and im using the Pimsleur (pingaz) and Duolingo (free) for it. They're pretty good so far.

This thread has good info on if you want to learn a language: http://chanarchive.org/4chan/int/50727/is-rosetta-stone-capable-of-getting-my-german-from-non-existent-advanced (http://chanarchive.org/4chan/int/50727/is-rosetta-stone-capable-of-getting-my-german-from-non-existent-advanced)

Also, if you wish to learn a language, you should at least try. If you can't afford it, just pingaz it.

P.S.: Just tried Memrise, it sounds good.
