This is killing me!
I'm trying to install Sony Vegas Pro 11. I already have Pro 9, but I want to try the newest one. Unfortunately, to install the program you need an internet connection apparently. Yes I have working internet connection... The problem is when I load the installer, it asks me to connect on the internet. So I press Connect but it says couldn't connect. After that the installer crashes saying, Sony Windows Installer Preloader stopped working.

completely uninstall vegas 9, then install veg 11.

Still crashes.

Wait, is it legit or h4x'd vegas?
I just assumed cracked since it's a 600$ software ._.

It's haxed. I completely uninstalled it. Though, Vegas 11 is legit.

Did you try removing all traces of it from your registry?
The hacked install could still have traces of it that prevented vegas from activating itself/contacting the sony servers.

I'm not sure. Any way to check it?

> Start > regedit > ctrl+F "vegas" or whatever keyword you think would work better.
-
Yup, no traces in registry.

Solved. Tried to install 32-bit version. Which is odd because I have 64-bit system.
