Title: TTT Lost Temple Map
Post by: Foofoojack on February 29, 2012, 06:42:19 PM
The staff, as most of you should know, kills anyone who touches its tip when it is activated.

I was in a situation a few hours ago when a traitor was chasing me with it, and I couldn't shoot him because:

holding the staff covers the whole front side of your body

It was VERY annoying, seeing as though I could do little about it.
I was shooting at his legs, head, feet, pengas - anywhere to try to get a hit; but nothing happened to him, because of the staff.

So, my suggestion is that we fix the staff, and make its prop box thingy smaller.

thanks

Wait, I don't think it's that large. Do you mean that it covers more area than it visibly does?

Yes, that exactly.

I think source was just horrificly failing then.

[insert examples of when source does not register your bullet here]

We need the spike kills to count for the traitor who pressed the button.

What Foo is saying is true though the staff covers though probably not the holders entire body it covers a good portion and makes them damn near invincible.

This.

As cool as it is, this needs to be fixed.

I don't think you understood. He's talking about shooting the player and the player not taking damage. I'm fairly certain (from personal experience) that while the staff is large it won't block bullets (unless you hit the staff itself) that should hit the person holding it.

By reading your second sentence, I don't think you understand.

I'm not talking about the staff receiving the bullets, I'm talking about the person holding it.

Said differently, the size of the staff doesn't matter, just its hit box.

It's like this:

   ___
  |      |
  |   i  |
  |___|

the "i" is the staff, but the box around it is where bullets do not go through.

So while you're holding it vertically, the box protects you from any rounds.

Ok, interesting. I did not know that.

Brushes don't work like that.
