Title: The story behind your name
Post by: Ἆxule on January 19, 2012, 02:53:45 AM
This is all about why you chose your username as it is.

for example, five years or so ago, I was driving with my family to some place, and I saw a big sign explaining how much cars had to pay for the toll based off how many axle's they had.

I'm not sure why, but I thought of adding a "u" there, and thus Axule was created.

*When Axule is taken, I use the name "Acksule"

My previous name StashHouse was inspired by an awesome shirt (that I still have). The shirt had an image of a evil stick figure head that was smiling. The had was completely covered in fake jewels, with a dollar sign on it. On top of the head, the words "AKA: STASHHOUSE" were written in bold letters.
It was my favorite shirt, so I used it.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

My current name Cheesicle was given to me by a close friend whom I had to leave after I moved to China. She was giving me several variations of the name "Cheese" (which is what most people in LA called me), and came up with Cheesicle.

My name is (gasp!) Sebastian.

Swesson is a shortening/mauling of the brand name of gunsmith company Smith & Wesson, plus it doesn't sound as "2 tuff 4 u" as Smith Wesson.

Captain Communism started from an assignment where we had to make a super hero/villian. His power was that whenever he hit a wealthy person, that person's wealth would be equally distributed around him.

He would also turn into a sheet of iron that would then be used for Captain Communism's curtains.

When I registered an e-mail, semy was already used so I randomly picked 32

The (HUN) is my "nationality" tag.

My name used to be "Colored Goddess" (dontask) but on the server I used to play on you could change the color of your name by putting [color] in front your name, so I put [purple] colored goddess, joined Rnd people started calling me purple, renamed myself to purple.

I'm a fan of the animation series "madness combat" by Krinkels and the main character was named hank.j.wimbleton.
I've had that name for 2 years on RND's servers not caring if people took notice of me. (im sure some admins can remember that name)
I then found that Teh was often the Internet slang for The, so i poot it in front of my name to get TehHank.j.wimbleton.
I then realised it looked horrible so i shortened it to TehHank. Briefly i made it so it looked like Hank teh Great but i rarely use it anymore.

8-year-old me was sitting watching TV and playing pokemon

I thought the "GAME FREAK" intro in RSE was pretty cool, and I was watching channel 171 on Dish Network that day.

sophicUrsus is just... well... if you can't figure it out, you may not be so bright.

I usually use the username "Nickybobby14" which I made after watching Talladega Nights when I was like 10 years old for my Millsberry account (It pretty much became my username for most everything after that). I then two years later, converted over to using KHMarie12, which I used as my fanfiction username.

KH= Kingdom Hearts (one of my favorite games)
Marie= My middle name
12= My age at the time I made it

And I've used it ever since. If it doesn't work, I will always use Nickybobby14.

Eh, I lost interest for Madness Combat after the 9th one. It just became overly repetitive. But before that, I was crazy about MC.

My name was I just thought of it randomly. No interesting story behind it.

My screen name you all see here is my brothers. Deacon has always been his, since his friends decided to pick names of ranks in the church (etc, whoever has played with my friend "bishop").  When I first got Steam, I bought the orange box w/gmod combo. He loved tf2, so he would always play more than I would. I started to dabble in gmod, found RND ZS. Kept changing my name to TakeBackTheRain
Spoiler: explanation (click to show/hide)
which is my SN, but the people I had played with the first few times called me Deacon anyway because its much shorter. In the interests of not confusing the shit out of people, I adopted that name. He hates me for it. He'll get over it.

Post by: Mr. Franklin on January 19, 2012, 02:25:59 PM
There are more than 3 reasons why i created my name(Ill tell you guys one).

My original name on steam was Mr. Franklin1972. The day i created my steam account, in 2003; My grandfather passed away from lung cancer. He was a retired Commander in the United States Navy, and was a WWII vet. and was stationed on the U.S.S. Franklin during the Island Hopping Campaign. The U.S.S. Franklin was one of the most famous Aircraft carriers in WWII. I thought of that Aircraft carrier that day, and choose Mr. Franklin1972 for my name. 1972 is my birth date.

I changed it to Mr. Franklin in mid 2009, when my first account was hacked and i could not receive it back. So ever sense mid 2009 i have stayed as Mr. Franklin, on steam.

Post by: ChaosEternal on January 19, 2012, 02:48:30 PM
My name was first made in Starcraft. For single player I invented the name Eternal Destroyer off the top of my head. That didn't fit in the multiplayer name box, so I changed it to EternalNothing. Later, I changed that to ChaosEternal, possibly foe Warcraft 3, and I have kept it ever since. This was all very vaguely inspired by the Kingdom Hearts series. Very vaguely. If you search "ChaosEternal" you can find the various websites I have used. It is kind of fun to be able to see the mark you have left on the internet over the years.

(3 years on the interwebz if anyone is wondering. ^.^)

I guess since all the cool people are doing it, I should do it too...

My older brother came up with it after listening to a podcast with the voice actor of Solid Snake as a guest. At the end they started telling jokes and one of them was;
"What did Solid Snake say after drinking from a rusty beer keg? Metal beer (Said in Snake's voice)."
He like the joke and made his name Metalbeersolid.

But that changed when an artist made an EP called "Gay Deer World Takeover*". He liked it and changed his steam id to Metaldeersolid

And I am utter shit at names.

The end

I sort of inherited deathward from my older cousin who went to Iraq. Before he left, he gave me his runescape account which was named "deathward" and a password of "55555555555555555555555555555555555" until the password box was filled ._.

This was like, way back in 2003-4, when runescape was still 2D, mind you. I sort of just adopted the name.

I haven't talked to said cousin for a while now. The last time I saw him was about a year ago, when he was working at an EB Games.
He's one of those guys whose really into the whole steampunk thing (Thinks FF7 is the best game ever, listens to death/heavy metal, that kind of shit).

Anyways, I'm getting a little offtrack. I sort of started using "Death M.D." for a few months when I really got into house. I thought it was a cool oxymoron (Doctor Death), to which point, I switched over to "Snivy M.D." for like, a week. I forgot why, I think ManualMonaro (if any of you even know him) made me. .-.

BUT THEN, fgt deg decided to change his name to my old one, so like, I couldn't switch back. After like two months when he finally changed it back to Degtyarev, I just didn't feel like changing it back since people already started remembering me as Snivy

so
