I really enjoyed AoE2, but I never had the chance to play the third.

I was asking "is it a decent game"

Because I have exactly $40 left, and I wouldn't mind shelling it out for the complete collection on steam.

Yeah, I have it and it's cool.

AoE 2 is a great game too but don't get it if you want to play multiplayer.

Don't get 2 unless you are only going to play singleplayer. Its online is terrible.

If you are a hardcore fan of the AoE series, go ahead and buy it. I would give it a 3/5 at most, their are alot of missing key elements in AoE3 that 2&1 have. The online play is pretty awesome, and it's much easier to play online than Aoe 1&2.
